Civilization: Call To Power
                               1.2a Update

This update for Civilization: Call To Power for Linux contains the following
improvements upon version 1.2 of the game:

 - Fixed loading play-by-email games containing spaces.
 - Fixed crash on start when playing on an 8-bit X11 display.
 - Fixed crash playing some of the movies.
 - Fixed game hang when switching desktops with XFree86 4.0
 - Scrolling works now after toggling fullscreen mode.
 - Fixed diplomacy crash in German language version.
 - Networking is now built in, solving LC_ALL problem.
 - civctp -s no longer signals the name of a scenario to load.
 - Fixed 1.1 save game compatibility
 - Fixed Play-By-Email games with Windows players (save game compatibility)
 - Fixed assertion failure when loading scenario icons


INSTALLING THIS PATCH

Either use the Loki Update Tool, or manually install the patch by
typing "sh <patchfile>" at the command line:

        $ sh civctp-1.2a-x86.run


IMPORTANT NOTES FOR PC PLAYERS

The save game format has been changed to retain compatibility with 
CivCTP 1.1 and the Windows version of the game, for play by e-mail.
This means that before you load games saved by Linux CivCTP 1.2, you will
need to run a utility to convert your old save games to the compatible
format.  The tool is called "fixsaves-12", and is installed in the
main game directory.  You can easily fix all your save games at once:

    [install_path]/fixsaves-12 `find ~/.loki/civctp/save/games -type f`

This is done automatically by the patch, but if you have old 1.2 save
games, and are not the one who installed the patch, you will need to
run this command manually.

Non-x86 versions of CivCTP are not save-game compatible with any other
version, so for them this step is not necessary.
